Split cuts a video or audio file into parts under 20 MB, on your iPhone. Pick a clip, tap Split, and share the parts to chat apps that reject large files.

One clip in, parts out
Too big for the chat? Split it into parts that go through.
Split aims each part at about 18 MB and checks it. If a part comes out over 20 MB, it cuts a shorter piece. The parts are numbered in order, so they are easy to send one after another.

If a clip is already under 20 MB, Split does not cut it. Send the original as it is.
What it does

Video or audio
Pick a video from Photos or an audio file from Files. Audio parts cannot go into a Photos album, so you share them to Files or any app.
Join clips too
Add two or more videos, or two or more audio files, drag them into order and tap Join. Mixed sizes get black bars, not a crop.
Saves to a named album
Type a name like Park walk and Split saves into the album Split Park walk, with files like Split-Park-walk-part-1.mp4. Search Photos for Split to find them later.
Bookmark every 10 parts
When a split makes 11 or more parts, Split can add a still after 10, 20 and 30 so you keep your place when sending batches.
Quality first
Split first tries to copy the video as it is. It only recompresses when a clip is so heavy that even a short slice would go over 20 MB.
How it works

Pick a clip
Type a name like Park walk, then tap Video or Audio and choose the file. Split copies it onto the phone first and shows the progress.

Leave the app open while it cuts. Every part comes out under 20 MB, and Split can save them straight into your named album.

Share the parts
Share the parts from Split, or send them together from the top of the album in Photos. If an app offers File or Video, pick File.
