Split Video Parts ("Split") is an iPhone app that cuts a video or audio file into parts under 20 MB, and joins clips into one file. This page explains what stays on your phone and what, if anything, leaves it.

Your videos and audio never leave the phone

Cutting and joining happen on your iPhone, using Apple's built-in video tools. Split does not upload your videos, your audio files, or the parts it makes. They are not sent to us or to anyone else.

• While Split works, it keeps a working copy of the file in the app's own storage on the phone. It clears these files when you pick another file or reopen the app, and you can delete them yourself in Settings, Storage.
• When you share parts, they go only where you send them, using the iOS share sheet. That app's own privacy policy then applies.

Photos access

Split asks for access to your photo library so it can list your albums, read the videos you pick, and save cut parts or a joined video into the album you choose. With Limited access, iOS only lets Split save into Recents. Without access, you can still cut a video and share the parts from inside the app. Nothing from your library is uploaded.

What stays on the phone

• Your settings, such as appearance, the default album name, save choices, and Bookmark every 10 parts.
• A short history of each save: the name, date, file name, number of parts, and total size. It does not include the videos. You can clear it in the app.

Optional account

Split works fully without an account. Newer versions of Split let you sign in, if you choose to, with Apple, Google, or an email address, so your settings and history come back on a new phone. The account is run on Berth (api.atberth.com). If you sign in, the account stores:

• Your email address (or the private relay address from Sign in with Apple) and a user ID.
• Your Split settings, listed above.
• Your save history: name, date, original file name, number of parts, and total size of each save.

Even when you are signed in, videos, audio, the parts Split makes, your Photos library, thumbnails, and album links are never saved to the account. Sign-in tokens are kept in the iOS Keychain on your phone. Google sign-in asks only for your basic profile email (the "openid email" scope).

What we do not collect

• No advertising ID, and no tracking across other apps or websites.
• No analytics SDKs, and no crash reporters that identify you.
• No contacts, no location, no microphone or camera recording.
• We do not sell or share your data.

Retention and deletion

Deleting Split from your phone removes its settings, history, and working files. Items you saved into Photos stay in Photos until you delete them there. If you made an account, you can delete it at any time in Settings, Account, Delete account. That removes the account, the saved settings, and the saved history. If you used Sign in with Apple, Split is also removed from your Apple ID. You can also email hello@atberth.com and ask us to delete it.

Children

Split is a general utility. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

This website

split.atberth.com uses no cookies, no analytics scripts, and no trackers. Berth, the host, may keep basic request logs and counts visits without cookies.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change. The latest version will always be at this address.
